Nebo
The Nebo RSL Sub Branch helds it's first meeting in the Nebo Shire Office on Friday the 8th September 1944.
Mr Norman Richards, (grazier), was elected as the first President of the Sub Branch, with the other founding members being Mr Norman Hey (Shire Clerk), Mr Charles Knobel (Hotel Licensee), Mr Alfred Wood (Retired WW1), Mr John Burgess (Station Hand), Mr George Smith (Contract Worker), Mr Benjamin Aldridge (Contractor) and Mr Alex Baker (Occupation unknown).
To date, meetings are held by courtesy of Nebo Shire Council. The AGM is in the Supper Room on the last Saturday in April, with ordinary meetings held the last Saturday of every second month in the adjoining park (weather permitting).
Anzac Day has been very well attended in recent years, with a free sausage sizzle afterwards for everyone.
Remembrance Day is conducted each year guided by the RSL Handbook. Attendance numbers vary each year.
In recent times very limited membership has meant very limited activites in the Nebo Sub Branch.
Any new members are welcome and can contact Mr Bill Bruce on 4950 5265.
